Insight Santé helps ministries of health and global health organisations strengthen health information systems and harness AI to tackle the rising NCD crisis across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Over the past decade, Sub-Saharan Africa has made extraordinary progress against infectious diseases. HIV, malaria, and vaccine-preventable illness have been met with serious investment in surveillance, data, and systems.
But a new epidemic is building — one driven by modern lifestyles, urbanisation, and demographic change. Non-communicable diseases are now the leading cause of premature death globally, and Africa is not prepared for them.
The platforms ministries rely on — DHIS2, OpenMRS, eLMIS — were designed for episode-based infectious disease. Chronic NCD management demands longitudinal tracking, predictive analytics, and population-level pattern recognition. That is precisely where AI, applied thoughtfully, creates transformative value.
From strategic advisory to hands-on implementation and capacity building — designed for the realities of public health systems in Africa.
We assess your existing health information infrastructure, identify the gaps limiting NCD surveillance, and design a practical roadmap to integrate AI into your data workflows — without disrupting what already works.
End-to-end implementation of digital health platforms — from requirements gathering and system design to configuration, testing, and deployment. We have delivered DHIS2, eLMIS, and custom solutions across eight countries.
We design and deliver training that builds lasting AI and data literacy within health teams — not just technical skills, but the frameworks that let people lead with data. Available remotely or on-site, in English or French.
We begin with a rigorous assessment of your current systems, data quality, and organisational capacity — listening before recommending.
We co-design solutions with your team — ensuring every tool, workflow, and AI integration fits the real constraints of your environment.
Hands-on delivery: configuration, testing, training, and deployment — with rigorous quality assurance at every step.
We build local capacity so solutions outlast the engagement — transferring knowledge, not dependency.
Insight Santé was founded after more than 13 years working inside health information systems across Sub-Saharan Africa — with partners including UNICEF, WHO, USAID, Gavi, and the Global Fund. We have seen what works, what fails, and where the critical gaps are.
The core belief driving everything we do: the data to improve population health already exists in most health systems. What is missing is the analytical infrastructure, the interoperability, and the AI layer to transform it into actionable insight.
We focus specifically on non-communicable diseases because they represent the fastest-growing health crisis on the continent — and the one most underserved by existing digital health investment. Diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease: these are conditions shaped by modern life, and they demand modern, innovative approaches to surveillance, prediction, and prevention.
Insight Santé is based in Dakar, Senegal. We work across Francophone and Anglophone Africa, in English and French, committed to solutions that are locally led, locally validated, and locally sustained.
